Obtaining IEC registration is a step-by-step process, and the following are the steps:

  1. Visit the website of the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) at www.dgft.gov.in.
  2. Click on the option 'Apply for New Import Export Code (IEC) or Modify existing IEC.'
  3. Enter the PAN details of the applicant and other essential information such as name (as per PAN), date of incorporation/birth, and captcha code.
  4. Click on submit.
  5. Enter the mobile number and email address and generate OTP by entering the captcha code.
  6. Enter the OTP and submit it.
  7. Provide the E-commerce number and details such as the company's name, address, mobile number, email address, nature of the company, and business activity.
  8. Enter the account holder's name, bank number, and applicant details.
  9. Submit the application after entering all the information.
  10. Fill in the branch details, such as branch SI. No, 6 digits PIN, and address of the branch, and update the information of the Director/Partner/Proprietor/Karta/Managing Trustee.
  11. Upload the required documents such as address proof, canceled cheque, or bank certificate.
  12. Make the payment and verification of the fee as prescribed in the application.
  13. Preview the completed application, check it thoroughly, and click on Print Application.
  14. Submit your application with DSC or without the DSC of the applicant.
