Udyog Aadhar Registration Online- Overview

The Indian government had launched the Udyog Aadhaar Registration (UAM) to support small-scale businesses, but it has now been replaced by Udyam Registration. Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) must apply for Udyam Registration to receive government benefits.

Udyog Aadhaar-registered businesses were required to migrate to Udyam Registration by June 30th, 2022, in order to access MSME benefits. Failure to do so will invalidate their UAM, and they will need to re-register on the Udyam Portal to receive the benefits.
 

UAM (Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum)

The Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum is an important document that small and medium-sized enterprises in India must complete during their Udyog Aadhaar registration. The memorandum serves as a self-declaration form that captures basic information about the enterprise, including the name, address, type of organization, main business activity, and employee details. This information is crucial for the government to identify and support MSMEs in India. The memorandum is also required to avail of various benefits and schemes offered by the government, such as subsidies, loans, and tax incentives. Therefore, enterprises must complete the Udyog Aadhaar registration process, submit the memorandum to avail of these benefits, and be recognized as an MSME.

Udyam Aadhar New Registration

  1. Fill out a one-page form for registration either online or offline.
  2. If registering for multiple industries, individual registration is required.
  3. The form required self-certification of the MSME's existence, business activity details, bank account, ownership and employment information, and other relevant details.
  4. Self-certified certificates were required during the registration process.
  5. No registration fees are required for UAM registration.
  6. After submitting the form and required documents, a registration number with a unique Udyog Aadhaar Number (UAN) is generated and sent to the email address provided.

Note: UAM registration no longer exists and individuals must now apply for Udyam Aadhar Registration Online. The Udyam Registration process is similar to UAM Registration.

Documents Required for Udyog Aadhaar Registration

In the case of a Proprietary Enterprise, the Aadhaar number must be of the Managing partner; for Partnership Enterprise, it should be of the Authorized Partner; and for Other forms of Enterprises, it should be of the Authorized Person.
Name of Owner/PromoterName of the applicant as provided in the Aadhaar Card.
CategoryGeneral / Scheduled Tribe (ST)/ Scheduled Caste (SC) / Other Backward Castes (OBC).
Business NameName of the entity under which the business is conducted. An applicant can have more than one enterprise, each registered individually with the same Aadhaar Number for a separate Udyog Aadhaar.
Type of OrganizationType of Business entity or Legal Entity. (Proprietorship, Partnership Firm, Hindu Undivided Family, Private Limited Company, Co-Operative, Public Limited Company, Self Help Group, LLP, Others)
AddressThe Postal Address of the business for communication purposes, including contact numbers and email addresses.
Date of CommencementThe commencement date of the respective businesses.
Previous Registration Details (if any)Details of any previous MSME registration.
Bank DetailsBanking details of the company include the Bank Account number and IFSC Code.
Key ActivityKey areas of activity of the business – service or manufacturing.
National Industrial Classification (NIC) CodeThe NIC Code must be entered from the National Industrial Classification handbook. The Applicant might select multiple National Industrial Classification-2008 (NIC) Codes for including all of its activities.
Number of persons employedThe number of employees in the business.
Investment in Plant & Machinery / EquipmentTotal amount investment in terms of machinery and equipment by the business.
District Industry Center (DIC)The details of the DIC (District Industry Center) nearest to such business, if needed.


Please note that the UAM Registration is no longer in use and all MSMEs are required to obtain Udyam Registration. There is no need for any documents during the Udyam registration process. Benefits of Udyog Aadhar Registration

  • Upon registration of their MSME, applicants can avail the benefits of various government schemes such as easy loans, loans without guarantees, and loans with subsidized interest rates.
  • Financial assistance will be provided to eligible MSMEs to participate in foreign expos and showcase their products.
  • MSMEs registered with the government will also be eligible for government subsidies.
  • Registration will facilitate the hassle-free opening of current bank accounts in the name of the business.
  • Registered MSMEs can apply for government micro-business loans and other beneficial schemes.

Note that applicants with UAM registration will receive these benefits only if they migrate to Udyam registration before 30.06.2022. Those who fail to migrate by the given deadline must re-register under the Udyam portal to continue receiving these benefits.
